SCHOOL STRUCTURE
The College of Arts and Architecture, one of eleven colleges on the University
Park campus, is the home of seven schools and departments offering programs
in the visual arts, music, theatre, architecture, landscape architecture,
art history, and integrative arts.
The Penn State School of Visual Arts is part of the College of Arts and
Architecture. Cultural opportunities for students are enhanced through
the University's proximity to New York City, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia,
Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. Penn State College of Arts and Architecture
School of Visual Arts' programs are housed in five campus buildings. The
comprehensive facilities offer students a wide variety of instructional
space, tools, and equipment within each of the school's programs. A large,
well-equipped wood and metal shop serves the entire school, as do five
Macintosh computer-design laboratories.
Additionally, the Penn State School of Visual Arts maintains ongoing exhibitions
in its teaching art galleries. All of its buildings are in close proximity
to Penn State's Palmer Museum of Art. An excellent arts library serves
the University Park campus and provides extensive resources for study
and research.
