Staley  Rejection  Bio

Chris Staley is a professor of Ceramic Arts at Penn State University.  In 1977 he was rejected by all the graduate programs he applied to.  However after attending the Kansas City Art Institute for a year as a special student, he went on to earn his MFA from Alfred University in 1980.  Over the past 25 years he has taught countless workshops from Bezalel Academy in Israel to Haystack in Maine. Chris Staley has pots in major museums as well in friends cupboards,. On his resume it says he has had 27 solo exhibitions of his work. He once wrote an article “How a Handmade Cup can Save the World”.
