Student drawingGENERAL EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOL OF VISUAL ARTS

General Education in the Visual Arts comprises introductory courses where students learn to create artworks, and to understand and appreciate the relationship of the visual arts to their various academic studies, to contemporary society, and to their personal lives. Although these art courses are designed primarily for general study, students are often inspired to pursue visual arts study as a major.

All of these courses are for non-art majors only. Any student with a major in the School of Visual Arts cannot use these courses to fulfill their general arts (GA) requirements. If taken, these courses will be placed in the elective area for art majors.
